💬 In a few words:
Oh sweetie, Pam Bondi's sent a truly *nasty* letter to Governor Walz in Minnesota, demanding voter rolls and other private information right after two dreadful shootings by federal agents. It's just scandalous, I tell you!
More details:
The Main Gossip, Bless Her Heart!
Oh, honey, you simply won't BELIEVE the brouhaha brewing up in Minnesota! It's enough to make you drop your teacup! You see, after those two poor souls, Alex Pretti and Renee Good, were tragically shot by federal immigration agents — yes, two fatal shootings in less than three weeks, can you imagine the stress on those families? — our very own Attorney General Pam Bondi decided it was the perfect time to send a rather strongly worded letter to Governor Tim Walz.
And what did this letter say, you ask? Well, she told him it was his job to “restore the rule of law,” as if he's running a wild west saloon! But here's the kicker, sweetie: one of her *suggestions* was to demand that Minnesota turn over all its voter rolls, along with records on Medicaid and food assistance programs! Just out of the blue, as if that's going to fix anything.
She also started harping on about “anti-law enforcement rhetoric” and demanded he “repeal sanctuary policies that have led to so much crime and violence in your state.” Well, I never! It sounds like a shakedown to me, straight out of a gangster movie, bless her cotton socks!
Grandma’s Sarcastic Reactions (I’m Shaking My Head)
Honestly, you could knock me over with a feather! Pam Bondi, dear heart, claimed giving up all that private voter information would “confirm that Minnesota’s voter registration practices comply with federal law.” She even said it would “better guarantee free and fair elections and boost confidence in the rule of law.”
“Fulfilling this commonsense request will better guarantee free and fair elections and boost confidence in the rule of law,” she wrote.
Commonsense, my foot! Representative Ruben Gallego, a Democrat from Arizona, called it a “shakedown” and said it had absolutely nothing to do with the President Donald Trump's usual fuss about immigrants causing trouble. It sounds like they're just trying to get their hands on people's personal information, don't you think?
And the “tragedy” she was blathering on about? It wasn't the killings of those two poor protesters! Oh no, sweetie, she was worried about a supposed rise in “violence against ICE officers.” Well, I never! She didn't even offer a single example of these so-called violent attacks. It just sounds like an excuse to push her own agenda.
Now, What *Really* Happened, Sweetie?
Let's get down to brass tacks, because sometimes you just need the facts straight. First, two people, Alex Pretti and Renee Good, were indeed fatally shot by federal immigration agents in Minnesota within a short period. This is a very serious matter and quite upsetting.
Attorney General Pam Bondi's letter demanded Governor Walz provide the Department of Justice (DOJ) with access to Minnesota's voter rolls, citing compliance with federal law. This isn't the first time, mind you; the Trump administration, with President Donald J. Trump leading the way, actually filed a federal lawsuit last September against Minnesota and other Democrat-governed states to get this very same private voter information, including driver's license numbers and parts of Social Security numbers.
What's particularly fishy is President Trump’s long-standing, completely debunked claims about “voter fraud” in the 2020 election, particularly his baseless notion that noncitizens are voting. Many believe these demands are just another way to spread more misinformation and lies.
Furthermore, while Ms. Bondi claimed Minnesota's “sanctuary policies” led to crime, actual data from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Minneapolis Police Department shows that crime has actually gone down in recent years. So much for her
